When in the pious man's rage,
he destroys everything for naught
but the wants of base men--
such conflicts ravage the world
and the souls of all men in it.
Such a foreboding
to paradise lost...
when from the mouths of babes
comes not the truth
but cries of despair--
a forgotten child,
as it were we had lost the child
in our own heart.
What infant hopes remain
for the future?
how heaven does at last rest
distant on the horizon's edge
possibility paving the way before it, but lost, a fading choice
become painfully obvious
as the setting sun vanishes
a last time.
