Re: Stepping Out of the Tar Pit
What can I say. If people like David Brooks and Max Boot could get a
condominium project going up Bush's posterior, they'd be there in a
heartbeat.
Brooks, like Boot, always likes to leave out certain things in his various
exonerations of both Bush and The Republican Party.
Such as while the Iraqis fingers are "stained with ink from voting in the
great new democracy they have built", the Americans fingers are stained with
100,000 dead Iraqi men women and children Civilians' blood.
Brooks obviously didn't read that recent post about a PM in Britain
labelling the vote in Iraq as something like "tainted beyond comparison".
He left out that thousands of candidates were on the ballot. He left out
that most Iraqis had never heard of any of them. He left out that many of
them were forced to vote in an atmosphere where they feared for their lives
for candidates they have never heard of because they were threatened to have
their equivalent of Food Stamps cut off and didn't want to watch their
families starve to death on top of having no water or electricity.
He left out lots of things. People who work for right-wing fascists
movements and to their everlasting glory often do.
In closing, I'd just like to add that I forgot to make reference in the post
where I commented about one of Max Boot's most recent columns, that Max came
right out and said in the LA Times the equivalent of "Yes, I SINCERELY hope
we invade Iran NOW.".
Besides all the right wing Christian nuts in this country who are now trying
to get such things as Evolution struck from being taught to anyone anywhere
ever again in America (great article by the way) and want it replaced with
such concepts that the entire Earth and everything on it is only 10,000
years old, there remains a huge conglomeration of people like Brooks and
Boot who by all means possible wind up with widely read columns in widely
read American Media outlets and believed by large amounts of Americans
simply because they see it in front of their faces in the newspaper.
Many Americans remain "unplugged", or rather not in possession of great
volumes of unbiased reporting about a myriad of subjects, and have solely
things like newspapers and tv news to draw their conclusions about truth and
reality from, and therefore sit out there in audience-land believing such
biased reporting left and right daily. It might not always appear to be
biased reporting, it is just the small reality that various reporters love
to leave out certain details concerning certain matters which most of us
refer to such things as "Facts".
To them, not telling all the Facts is not wrong, they have simply come to
the conclusion that not telling the entire Truth is no longer the same as
Lying.
Again, if *anyone* could find a way to reach the people who sit out there
and have to listen endlessly to the schlock from people like Brooks and
Boot, from whom they wind up deriving their tainted conclusions about
reality, they could change America, for the better.
All you have to do is find some way to Educate those who remain quietly
seated in the shadows of propaganda.
At least that way they would have a Choice, unlike now.
That would take a lot of money, a lot of ingenuity, and a lot of effort on
your part though.
However, again, reaching the average ordinary everyday American with
something called The Whole Truth remains your only option, for it is only by
their awakening that any form of True Freedom will ever escape the shadows
that people like Brooks and Boot continue to get paid for printing.
Ok, we don't really have a lot of time, as the shadows are growing
cumulatively larger each day, but we'll sit here while you try to come up
with an idea (other than spending the vast sums it would take to start your
own version of CNN) of how to reach America other than The Internet where
out of the minority proportion of Americans who even use the Internet only
15 percent of that total bother to scan for news related items.
No, I won't bring up "The Global Postcard", that was my idea, come up with
one of your own or stop b*tching.
