Excellent article on "How The West Was Lost". Makes such things as
Conspiracy Theories bow to the masters of Reality and take its rightful
place on a back burner. The times are indeed a changing. The only problem
is that there is nobody left who will report about it happening. Ironic
such an article has to come from someone like Rich in of all sections, the
Arts section of the NY Times. He makes several good points, too good,
including the small fact that people are neglecting to even do any further
stories on inconsequential revelations still coming from any outdated boring
things such as 911 investigations. It should have been more than 3 pages
long, but at least we got 3 pages on The Press's role in the dissection of
Democracy in the Arts section of the NY Times. That's at least something.
The trading of America for a few cocktails, some ratings, some insane
ideological brouhaha, and star status as a reporter has always made my
pigtails curl, but it's nice to see people like Gannon stealing lines from
people like Hunter Thompson to really put the whole picture of Betrayal and
Treason in true perspective. The West would never have crumbled so quickly
without such infinite integrity at work by all those who really care in The
Press. Was it really someone like Ted Turner who in a letter that crossed
this path here not so long ago was complaining about "The Press" or
something after he decided "it was time to sell CNN and move on and make
buffalo burgers with Jane". Sorry, Ted, you've been Gannonized, you are no
longer relevant. Keep working on that secret sauce for those burgers,
though, maybe some day you'll change the world. Stay alert, Ted, don't let
your chance pass you by.
