E-Mail ThisAs I noted yesterday, the truth behind this story is that NYS is being forced to comply with federal rules that would require touch-screen voting machines - the same ones that may well have been responsible for the miscount in Ohio during the 2004 presidential elections, and which have been found to be far less secure than their manufacturers state - setting aside, of course, that the two largest manufacturers of the machines are owned by CEOs who have over $100,000 to the Bush campaign in each of the last two elections.

Editorial: A Voting Machine Mess
New York State has the worst record in the nation when it comes to complying with the Help America Vote Act, but negotiating a solution in a rushed atmosphere could involve some very bad compromises.
