Wow Ghosts from the past!   Barry Primus played one of my favourite 
characters from a novel, in a bad movie adaptation of Been Down So Long It Looks Like 
Up, by Richard Fariña.   The character was Gnosis.. styled after Richard. Other 
characters in the book were Heffalump who was Bruce Langhorne the 
percussionist/studio guitarist...And Kirsten Dickie's GF before he married Mimi Baez.   
Richard wrote such memorable songs as;
House Un-American Blues Activity Dream
Birmingham Sunday ( about the bombing of the church in Alabama)
Pack Up Your Sorrows ( with Pauline Mardin)
Raven Girl
A Swallow Song
Reflections in a Crystal Wind
etc.

Dickie died in a motorcycle accident, two days after his first novel was 
published on Mimi's 21st birthday.  Richard and Mimi Farina Website / Richard
