The www.donotcall.gov website is not a hoax, that is legit. It is mainly to
register your home number. The suggestion that you need to add your cell
number is the hoax. Since cell numbers are still relatively private it is
not easy for telemarketers to obtain them. I registered my cell phone
anyway - that way I'm covered for the future.
