Also, to weigh in on the list topics, as a "newbie" I like the living 
room AND the political / HAIR related aspect.  I never saw the "old 
list postings" so I've nothing to compare, but I like just getting to 
know people by reading what they have to say, whether they're having 
a good or bad HAIR day!  And I do now have sheets of a generic fabric 
softener (does it work as well as Bounce?  I'm not sure yet) all over 
my apartment.  For those of us that are domestically challenged, 
simple household tips are always appreciated.
