you do it extremely delicately preserving as much of the original as possible

  I've heard the updated 2001 Vienna album and my uncle has seen show live, and we both agree it was good, but not the same great Hair as it was in the 60's and early 70's. Some songs that Jim has added are good [War, Hippie Life] but I don't think it needs a ton of updating.
