    Of course, this all comes under the neat euphemisms of “change” and “progress.” Sickening.

    Well there are still some stunningly beautiful places in this part of the world, which are reasonably priced but of course they are a lot further away than the Hamptons or the Dordogne and that is their saving grace. Generally it is the hippies and travellers, who find the beautiful places and they get a bit fashionable and then the less imaginative but richer people move in. It is a process which is well under way now in Patagonia.
