Heroes in mental health

The tragic death of four year old Rebecca Riley was apparently due to her parents’ actions in giving the child intentional overdoses of mood stabilizing drugs. The case led to a backlash against two world-class child psychologists at Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School. This is an essay in defense of the physicians by their department chairmen. I post it because it exposes a theme we see only rarely: psychiatric illness in children…BS
