Galt MacDermot will perform original music with his New Pulse Jazz Band at the West Bank Cafe in Manhattan, Monday January 28, 2008. Making a special appearance will be Broadway vocalists Suzanne Griffin, Catrice Joseph Hart & Melanie May Po. The show starts promptly at 8pm and concludes after a gorgeous HAIR-medley by 10pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door. A $15 food/drink minimum is charged per person. This performance provides an intimate and rare opportunity for audiences to hear Mr. MacDermot and New Pulse play music composed at every stage in his career, from HAIR to selections from “Spotted Owl” to his newest works composed in honor of his hometown of Staten Island, commissioned by the Council on the Arts and Humanities for Staten Island as part of the Staten Island Composers Project in 2007. Mr. MacDermot is releasing “Leap of Faith,” his latest CD, in the coming months, and is the subject of the upcoming documentary, “Ear of the Heart.”
