I am the spokesperson for the Semu Tribe of HAiR. We will be doing a fundraiser for the deaf and hard of hearing production of HAiR. We have Coy Middlebrook attached and a great team of people to get the workshop going.

I will be doing a performance of my poetry at the Met Theatre sometime in September as our first fundraiser. It will be done with two ASL translators flanking me, not way off across the stage. We will all be wearing black on a black stage and all you will see is our hands and faces as we recite/sign the poetry.

We have a silent auction set up and I wonder if you can post something to the HAiR list to ask tribe members to donate something for the silent auction. Maybe goods we can combine to make gift baskets. Or for L.A. area members services.

We need to raise at least $10,000.00 for the workshop.

With ticket sales and an auction, I am confident we can do this but we need the help of other Tribe members. They will be giving deaf and hard of hearing actors the chance to experience an incredible journey not to mention the audiences who heretofore have never been able to experience HAiR in all its glory and wonder! For them it has been Like watching a silent film with no subtitles.

Please help us make this DREAM come TRUE!
