I met Donna Summer at the close of the auditions for the Original London cast of HAiR and she came up to me asking if she was too late. I told her that I’d heard that they were auditioning for the Munich Germany cast the following day, so she could at least try for that. She was happy to hear it and got the part, and in Germany met Georgio Moroder who recorded all of her hits. It’s strange how a simple suggestion can change a persons life. HAiR dispatched so many talented people to find themselves and their art. I am glad to tell you that she was unassuming, open and looking disheveled, like many of us artists looking for a job! God bless her soul on her new travels.
