MB Hair

I was recently reminded of my audition for the original SF production of “Hair.” Now bear in mind that I was (and am) an abstract painter who can’t sing a note. I reported to the call and went up to the piano and presented sheet music for the Beatles “Get Back” — and two bars into the song the piano player stopped to asked me what I did “in the real world.” I told him and he replied: “Better stick to painting… Next!”

It was a wonderful moment and I have been painting ever since….
