Update from Jonathon Johnson
Hi all –
Just got this in from Jonathon, and he asked me to pass it on to everyone. Nina
This past week and a half has been a virtual hell that we are just beginning to see our way through. It seems as though we have just started to go through a great trial in life with the fires in San Diego. But really, we are fine…just a little shook up and a bit stressed out. Nothing that we can’t handle though, especially with the spiritual help of our large group of friends worldwide. Prayers and positive thoughts for our strength as well as our neighbors are welcomed. We need them and will gladly pass it on to others.
Our house made it through the firestorm but our living room and all it’s furniture was ruined by water damage, including the antique piano I bought 15 years ago for my daughter when she was 5. The entire room had just been remodeled 2 years ago…but the firefighters were in tune with the angels who saved our house. We also had smoke and ash damage, but really, really feel blessed, as many of our friends lost everything. We are in and out of our house randomly as good people are trying to clean things up and get our life back to normal. A total of 29 houses on our street were completely lost and the 13 homes on the street behind us are gone as well – as well as many more throughout the neighborhood that we have grown to love over the last 15 years. It’s like a Mad Max movie scene living here, but we love this neighborhood and we are determined to help it heal. There are so many here that need healing.
The firefighters, police, sheriff and national guard troops have been wonderful to everyone here. So much love and concern is coming out from all (Oh but how I wish those young folks in the national guard would be able to stay in the USA to help out with issues such as this instead of going off to war). More issues to pray for and send positive thoughts to.
I ask all my friends to send their positive thoughts and prayers to all who have been affected in one way or another by these fires.
Much love, peace and blessings to all,
Jonathon, Betsy and dogs
