JOE
         CERQUA



Joe Cerqua's (Sound Designer) music has been heard in just about every
major theater in the city of Chicago, nationwide and overseas. His work has
been Jeff nominated or cited for the past seven years. Mr. Cerqua was also
recognized with one of the first After Dark awards. Nationally, his music
was heard in the Los Angeles production of Beth Henley's Control Freaks
starring Holly Hunter, Bill Pullman and Carol Kane. In New York he worked on 
productions of To Kill a Mockingbird and Japanese Ghost Stories. 
His work was also featured in
shows in Cape Cod, Buffalo, and Minneapolis. In Vienna, Austria, Joe wrote
original music for productions of Agnes of God, Moon For The Misbegotten,
and Lettice and Lovage (starring Rue McClanahan) at the English Speaking
Theater of Vienna. This summer Joe's music will be heard in Scotland at The
Traverse Theater in Matt Tauber's production of The Spirit. The musicians
that have played Mr. Cerqua's music read like a "who's who" of nationally known
performers such as Orbert Davis, Marcos Loya, Johnny Frigo, Carol Loverde, Liz
Carrol, and Winston Damen. Current projects include original
compositions and sound design for the world premiere of Beth Henley's
Revelers at Center Theater,  The Kentucky Cycle at Pegasus Players, a
musical adaptation of Carmilla and new works for the Ruth Page Dance
Festival. Future projects include original music and sound design for
Transformations at the Goodman Theatre  and original music for A Time to
Burn at the Steppenwolf Theater. Joe is the artistic Director of the
Cerqua/Rivera Arts Ensemble.
