NOTE: This is part of a longer article about
the coming Broadway season.
...No yesterdays for Dude, the Gerome Ragni-Galt MacDermot musical coming to the Broadway Theater on October 2. Ragni, who co-authored Hair with James Rado, and MacDermot, who wrote the music for that sixties statement of youth, have built their new show around a very contemporary young man who wants only to live a simple life on the land. Why must there be things like drugs and war? he asks; why not love, peace, and harmony? In the end, the young man turns to children for his answers.
Acting in Dude will be Ragni himself, Rae Allen, William
Renfield, Michael Dunn, Salome Bey and a lot of spirited youngsters, all
under the direction of Rocco Bufano, and dancer Louis Falco will make his
debut as a choreographer for the theater.
