hair, the first offering at the New York Shakespeare Festival's Public theater, will close it's eight week engagement Sunday night, and be transferred Dec. 22 to Cheetah, the discotheque-nightclub at broadway and 53rd Street.

The Gerome Ragni - James Rado - Galt MacDermot rock 'n' Roll musical which was staged by Gerald Freeman, reached capacity toward the end of its second week at the 299-seat downtown house. Seating capacity at Cheetah will be 687.

The move was made possible by Michael Butler, a 41-year old Chicago financier, a successful angel for other stage projects.
