In this article N. Kristof mentions a couple of times "mud people" or a "mud person" in referring to Hale quotations ... what the heck is that? Oh No! is he referring to Black People?
By the way I'll bet Hale was shocked when N. Kristof told him he was married to a Chinese American woman.
